Engineering today faces the challenge of transcending its traditional role to become a key catalyst for building more just, resilient, and sustainable societies. In this context, Peace Engineering emerges as a guiding framework to understand and address the root causes of conflict, promoting solutions that integrate technical, social, and territorial dimensions.

This program is conceived as a high-level space for reflection and dialogue led by international experts. Within this forum, Peace Engineering provides the strategic perspective, while humanitarian engineering contributes concrete intervention experiences in vulnerable contexts. Concurrently, the program emphasizes the importance of social approaches that enable community ownership and ensure the long-term sustainability of these solutions.

Throughout the sessions, speakers and participants will explore how engineering—beyond designing and implementing technical solutions—must foster trust, equity, and sustainability within communities. Modern challenges require not only technically sound outcomes but also comprehensive approaches that recognize human dynamics, promote active participation, and adapt seamlessly to local realities.

Ultimately, this pre-event will showcase how engineering can transform realities, strengthen local capacities, and build lasting conditions for global well-being.

General Objective

To analyze the role of engineering as an instrument for peacebuilding by integrating conceptual frameworks and applied experiences. This objective focuses on understanding its contribution to social transformation, addressing immediate needs in vulnerable contexts, and generating sustainable solutions with a meaningful territorial impact.
